All-State Orchestra

Student Expectations and Code of Conduct

All rules and guidelines below are in accordance with the All-State Student Code of Conduct prescribed by the Missouri Music Educators Association and MSHSAA

The rules outlined in this document are non-negotiable. Parents and Directors of Students not meeting expectations will be contacted and students will be sent home.

Code of Conduct

  1. All-State is covered by rules governing the Missouri State High School Activities Association. School rules apply to your conduct while at All-State. APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IS EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES.
  2.  NO CONSUMPTION OR POSSESSION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, DRUGS OR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WILL BE TOLERATED. State law has a bearing on this. Any student found in violation will be sent home immediately. Those using prescribed drugs from their physician must inform the All-State chaperone in charge.
  3. “It is understood by students, their parents/guardians, directors and principals that any infraction of the Rule of Conduct constitutes grounds for the student’s dismissal from the All-State Orchestra activities by the All State Orchestra Coordinator of MoASTA. Any student dismissed from an All-State group will not be permitted to return home on their [own] accord. Their parent or guardian must come to pick them up immediately. It is further understood that any All-State student dismissed by the All-State Orchestra coordinator will not be eligible for any All-State honor group the following year.”
